Preparing for A Career in the Field of Nephrology: Module I Basic Concepts
Aspects of basic dialysis concepts, knowledge of the staging of renal failure and assessment techniques will be covered in this class. Basic dialysis concepts including osmosis, diffusion and ultrafiltration and their applicability to the dialysis and nephrology settings will be reviewed. Determination of the stages of chronic kidney disease (CKD) and nursing interventions and assessment will be reviewed. Assessment of the individual with CKD and undergoing dialysis therapy will also be presented.
